History

Acacia Fraternity was founded on May 12, 1904 at the University of Michigan by fourteen Master Masons as an outgrowth of the University of Michigan Masonic Club.  Members were to be motivated by a desire for high scholarship and character, as well as a passion for human service.

Over its 110 year history, Acacia has expanded internationally with 37 chapters all over the United States 1 in Canada and four colonies.

The Syracuse chapter was founded on June 10th 1911 and continued to grow and prosper until going inactive in 1985. However, the chapter recolonized in 2002  through the efforts of godfather Paul Dimoh, and eventually rechartered on August 12th, 2006. Since our original founding until now, the chapter has initiated 712 brothers.
